As a food enthusiast and passionate cook, TableFare owner Carol Peterman focuses the philanthropic efforts of her company toward Share Our Strength, whose mission it is to end child hunger in America. As a small startup company, Peterman is thrilled that TableFare’s donations to the organization have been able to help approximately 800 hungry kids receive food through Share Our Strength’s programs. “It’s a small drop in the bucket when you consider 16 million kids in America face hunger, but small drops add up and can make a powerful difference in the end,” says Peterman.

“I’m motivated everyday to inspire people to cook. Healthy home cooked meals not only nourish people physically, but the social connection that comes with cooking and sharing food is just as important,” comments Peterman. This personal love for food and cooking makes supporting Share Our Strength a natural fit for Peterman. In addition to donating money, Peterman volunteers as a cooking instructor for Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters classes, which are free six-week cooking and nutrition classes for low income families. She said, “Teaching people how to prepare healthy low-cost meals for their families is immensely rewarding and a lot of fun. Being personally involved in a cause I care about through an organization I admire is an added bonus.”

As TableFare grows, Peterman looks forward to continuing to support programs working to end hunger. By taking the No Kid Hungry Pledge you too can add your voice to those working to end child hunger in America.
